How we do what we do
The National Association of Liberated Tigers Canada’s policy on addressing climate change issues, multidimensional poverty, and the digital divide was built on comprehensive and interconnected approaches.
These challenges are complex and interlinked, and tackling them simultaneously can lead to more effective and sustainable solutions.
Below are the policy measures that N.A.L.T Canada uses in addressing these pressing issues—with a focus on communities experiencing unequal service delivery:
1. Climate Change Policy:
a. Renewable Energy Promotion: N.A.L.T Canada encourages the adoption of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependency on fossil fuels.
b. Carbon Pricing: Implement carbon pricing mechanisms like carbon taxes or cap-and-trade systems to incentivize businesses and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint.
c. Reforestation and Afforestation: Support and fund efforts to restore and expand forests, as they act as carbon sinks and help mitigate climate change.
d. Green Infrastructure: Invest in sustainable infrastructure projects that prioritize energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies.
2. Multidimensional Poverty Reduction Policy:
a. Social Safety Nets: N.A.L.T Canada establishes robust social safety nets to provide assistance to vulnerable populations during times of economic hardship, ensuring access to basic needs like food, healthcare, and education.
b. Education and Skills Development: Prioritize education and skills training to empower individuals to break the cycle of poverty and access better job opportunities.
c. Employment and Livelihood Support: Create programs that promote decent work, fair wages, and entrepreneurial opportunities for marginalized communities.
d. Affordable Housing: Develop affordable housing programs to improve living conditions and reduce the burden of housing costs on impoverished households.
3. Digital Divide Policy:
a. Infrastructure Development: N.A.L.T Canada invests in the expansion of reliable and high-speed internet infrastructure to underserved and remote areas.
b. Digital Literacy Programs: Implement initiatives to improve digital literacy skills among populations that lack access to technology and the internet.
c. Subsidized Devices and Connectivity: Provide subsidized or affordable devices and internet access to low-income individuals and families.
d. Online Public Services: Integrate digital technologies into public services to improve accessibility and efficiency for citizens across all income levels.
N.A.L.T Canada ensures the crucial success of our long-term social justice projects through collaboration with Canadian Governments and their counterparts, individuals, and local and international organizations.
Additionally, we design our actions with inclusivity and sustainability in mind, considering the needs of future generations and the planet’s well-being. Regular evaluations and adjustments of our policies help optimize our policy measures over time, based on the outcomes and feedback from affected communities.
