Food aid for homeless immigrants in Toronto area
N.A.L.T Canada has identified a host of immigrants from African countries that are camping on the street in the Toronto area of Canada without adequate shelter and food. From our findings from speaking to some of these persons in the camp, shelter and food tops the list of their needs.
We are working on identifying the specific number of persons facing these challenges and the countries they came in from, and generally, the camp in-flow and out-flow. We respect the cultural perspectives around different foods and tend to give out more widely accepted food items, by the people.
For shelter, the situation on ground is that the number of people moving in keeps increasing and at a rate higher than the number of people leaving the camp. Tents are needed to accommodate and shelter these people from rays of sunlight and rainfall.
An estimate of 20 people are expected to receive food aid and shelter aid.
